Description
Paralysis (Pakshaghata) in Ayurveda
In Ayurveda, paralysis is traditionally understood as Pakshaghata, a condition primarily associated with an imbalance of the Vata dosha. According to Ayurvedic principles, Vata plays an important role in bodily movement, motor functions, coordination, and nerve-related activities. Therefore, Ayurvedic approaches focus on balancing Vata and supporting the body’s natural strength and rehabilitation process.
Ayurvedic supportive care may include appropriately prepared Ayurvedic bhasma, herbal formulations, Abhyanga (therapeutic oil massage), Swedana, Panchakarma-based therapies, dietary guidance, and strengthening therapies, depending on the individual’s condition.
